I miss the Samurai Duck which closed about a year and a half ago, I got to see Thrones, Khanate, a lot of Yob and HC Minds shows and a bunch of local metal. The bartenders there were mostly musicians themselves and I got a lot of free drinks there. Had a really great mens room, too, completely thrashed. Sound system was fairly fucked, and the engineer was always struggling with some wiring in the back, so some of my recs there came out so/so. Not so (so) for Kayo Dot who showed up here late ‘o6. A pretty decent set, and some pretty interesting space. A lot of stage banter by the leader, what’s his name, Cory Whatthefuck? I cut the majority of that out, so you don’t have to hear it.
